Tour bassist!! He is the bloody tour bassist. HE knows that! He also is a grown man so if he had a problem with how he is “supposedly” treated he could just leave and work with his other band 24/7… but he doesn’t, so MAYBE he has no problem with touring the world with three other guys and play venues and festivals he, most likely, otherwise wouldn’t be able to play at.

Gah…

What should they do? They don’t kick him, they don’t ignore him, they don’t put him in the trunk while travelling….

They are not the first band who have a tour bassist and they won’t be the last one. And those other bands don’t carry their tour bassist on their hands either…

I just decided, since you seem to like what I wrote, to give you all the chance to say what troubles you.

It doesn’t have to be 30STM related at all.

If something bothers you or you just want to get somthing out of your system, you can say it here. If you prefer to not put your name to it you may “ask me something” anonymous.

It sure as hell helped me to get it all out. It was like “There, I said it!”. And it may helps some of you to get rid of something as well.

You, on the other hand are a teen, twenty-, thirty-, forty-, fifty something fan…girl/boy.
You buy the music, the merch, the concert tickets. You join the Echelon, MarsArmy. You follow them on myspace, twitter, facebook.
You stand in line for hours before a concert so that you may be right in front of the stage. You stand in line for what feels like hours to get your ticket, CD, Photobook, Yearboooh, T-Shirt, BB, iPhone, whatever signed.
You deserve a FUCKING THANK YOU!

And you know what, you get it.
They show the appreciation when spending month in buses, at airports, on planes, in hotel rooms. They show it when giving their everything on stage. Giving you a chance to be part of what 30 Seconds to Mars is about. Sitting for ages to sign whatever you give them. Coming outside no matter the weather or the time to talk to you.

That is a lot of appreciation, don’t you think?

They do a lot for you. To thank you. To make you feel special. But still it isn’t enough, is it.
You get pissed because they don’t thank you enough for buying their merch, CD…or whatever.
You get cranky when they don’t talk to for hours.
You badmouth them when they won’t hug you.
You call them self-absorbed when they won’t smile at you, look you in the eye.
You verbally kick their balls because they showed someone other than you some attention.
You call them assholes because they don’t want to fuck you.
You wish their girlfriends/fiancées would die or at least leave them the hell alone and make room for you for you are so much better for them.

Nobody held a gun to your head to make you spend all your money on this stuff. So stop whining.

You are not the only one standing around after concerts so they won’t listen to you for hours on end but give others the chance to talk to them as well. Show some fairness if you please

They don’t hug you because you are a STRANGER! Do you hug everyone you meet? And yes, you are a stranger no matter how often you “meet” them before. And you sure as hell don’t hug or touch persons who are obviously sick! Especially if you have many important appointments in the near and not so near future and it would be more than just be a tat “inconvenient” if you get sick!

They don’t smile or look you in the eye because before you there were like 200 other persons who told them what a great show it was. If you be honest with yourself here of a moment you would see that you wouldn’t either.

They show someone else some attention because, for whatever reason, that someone managed to grab that attention for a short while. And not necessarily with short skirts or big boobs. And if so…they are GUYS! Your boyfriend, fiancée, husband would to the same. Most men would so don’t pretend it is only them and nail them to a cross for it.

They don’t fuck you because you are under aged, not their type, they are not interested, they don’t fuck everything that walks no matter the rumours. And just because you bought their CD doesn’t mean they have to fuck you. You don’t fuck a teacher because they gave you a good grade. You don’t fuck your boss because you got a raise. You don’t fuck the guy at Starbucks because he gave you your daily coffee fix. (You may, for a short moment, want to, because IT IS COFFEE, but YOU DON’T)

You are not better as their girlfriends/fiancées. First of all you don’t know the guys. You have this picture in your head but that picture isn’t them. It is, most likely, not even close to who they are. Their girlfriends/fiancées whoever do know them. And they know their girlfriends/fiancées. You are but a face in the crowd. They love their girlfriends/fiancées. You are a stranger. And, I repeat, you don’t know them. You can read and watch every interview ever made, go to hundreds of concerts, stand in as many signing lines and look at 9374629210733 pictures it will never equalise the time they spend with their girlfriends/fiancées. It is not up to you to decide who is good for them. The only person who has that right is them.
So, no matter how little you wear, how much make up you apply, how good you know the songs…they won’t jump off of the stage because they saw your face in the crowd. They won’t marry you on the spot and they won’t leave their girlfriends/fiancées for you. Never happen before and most likely won’t happen in the future. So just enjoy the show.

They want you to have a good time, enjoy yourself, find people you have something in common with, to live, have fun.
They don’t want you to see them as the answer to all your questions. They don’t want for your life to only revolve around them. They don’t want you to cut everyone out of your life who doesn’t like them. They don’t want you to hurt yourself in ANY WAY because of something they did or didn’t do. They don’t want you to “fight wars” over which one of them is the handsomest, the smartest or most gifted one. They don’t want you to feel the need to choose. There is no right or wrong answer anyway. They don’t want you to say amen to everything they say. They don’t want you to just copy them without thinking about it first. They don’t want you to bash others because they don’t agree with everything the band says. They don’t want you to affront critics because they made their opinion known. Nobody likes everything.
